Municipality
The Evolène region, a world of its own! As the fourth largest municipality in Switzerland in terms of area, it offers a wide range of activities for everyone. At the foot of the Dents de Veisivi massif, overlooked by the Roc Vieux, lies the village of Les Haudères at the start of the Vallons de Ferpècle and d'Arolla. Today it has around 450 inhabitants. It is home to various businesses, including hotels, cafés-restaurants and grocery stores, in particular the municipality's central dairy, which offers regional products such as the famous Tomme and raclette cheese from Les Haudères. The village chapel is a unique sight with its paintings by François de Ribeaupierre. It also hosts the Festival classique des Haudères every summer. In the lower part of the village, along the Borgne, there are several farms and, for some years now, the Hérens Aréna, an arena built for the commune's cow fights and therefore a suitable playground for various events, especially thanks to the adjacent canopy.

Shops/stores
The Denner is practically on the doorstep in Les Haudères. The main village of Evolène has a village store in the village center and a larger COOP at the southern entrance to the village. All the large chain stores are located in Sion and Conthey.
Public transport
Evolène is easily accessible by car all year round. The road is wide and perfectly maintained. A regular bus service connects the valley communities with Sion railroad station. Evolène can be reached from Zurich in 3 1/4 hours, from Bern in 2 1/4 hours and from Lausanne in 2 hours.
