In winter, the same road serves as a ski and toboggan run. During this season, access to the chalet is via the chairlift up to the Brandalpe.

Situation
Brandalpe - situated above the village of Unterbäch, surrounded by woods and meadows. The chalet is easily accessible via a paved mountain road during the snow-free season.
From here you can easily reach the idyllic hiking hotspot Turtmanntal, the sunny and very close ski area Bürchen-Moosalp as well as the nearby Vispertal with the well-known vacation resorts Grächen, Saas-Fee and Zermatt. This means you can enjoy a variety of leisure activities in all directions - from quiet Alpine valleys to world-famous mountain destinations
Municipality
The sunny mountain village of Unterbäch VS lies at around 1,200 meters above sea level above the Rhone Valley and is known for its warm atmosphere, authenticity and respect for nature. The village has a good basic infrastructure with a village store, bakery, restaurants, ski area, mountain railroads, school and Postbus connection to the valley.
In summer, there are numerous hiking and biking trails, while in winter the family-friendly ski area offers ideal conditions for snow sports enthusiasts. Shops/stores
A VOLG store in the village conveniently covers your daily needs on site. For a wider range of shops, you can reach Visp in a short time - with its numerous national and international stores, restaurants and services. So you can enjoy the quiet life in the mountains without having to do without urban amenities.
Public transport
Unterbäch is easily accessible by public transport. There is a Postbus connection from Visp that serves the village several times a day and runs reliably in both summer and winter. This means you can travel comfortably from the valley without having to rely on a car. From Visp, there are also connections to the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) for national and international connections.
A cable car also runs directly from Raron to Unterbäch. It runs at regular intervals from 04:15 in the morning until 21:30 and takes you comfortably up to the mountain village in around 8 minutes.
Outside conveniences
The surrounding area spoils you with lush meadows, dense forests and a breathtaking view of the striking Bietschhorn, which dominates the mountain landscape at 3,934 m above sea level
