Municipality

The idyllic village of Albinen, nestled on a sunny mountainside at an elevation of 1,300 meters, towers high above the Rhône Valley and is located just 7 km—or a 12-minute drive—from the renowned spa and thermal resort of Leukerbad. Charming, traditional mountain farmhouses cluster around the striking church tower, while a narrow main street winds picturesquely through the village. Its sunny location, unparalleled tranquility, and fresh mountain air make Albinen an excellent retreat, one that has been honored multiple times with various awards for its quality of life and unspoiled natural beauty.

Shops/stores

Albinen has its own village store for daily necessities, as well as several cozy village and mountain restaurants. For larger purchases, the nearby towns of Susten or Siders are ideal, where you’ll find all the well-known national and international retail chains.

Public transport

Albinen has excellent public transportation connections. The bus runs regularly between Albinen and the Leuk-Susten train station, which is located on the SBB Visp–Sion line.

From Leuk-Susten, you can travel directly to major cities such as Brig, Sion, Martigny, Lausanne, and Geneva. In addition, most express trains stop here, quickly taking tourists to Leukerbad, the well-known thermal spa nearby.

Bern, Basel, and Zurich are also easily accessible via Visp and the NEAT Tunnel. Despite Albin’s idyllic seclusion, these connections allow for a quick and hassle-free journey throughout the entire region.
